Hi. I am Barry Joseph.
I am formerly the VP of Digital Experience at the Girl Scouts of the USA and Associate Director For Digital Learning at the American Museum of Natural History.
When I began at the Museum I used this blog to talk about my adventures, exploring issues related to digital media and museum-based learning. I featured original interviews, thought pieces, and highlights from my work and those of my colleagues at the AMNH.
Starting in 2020, with the launch of Barry Joseph Consultancy, LLC, I turned this blog into a place to explore digital engagement writ large.

Is Minecraft Just A Shiny Bauble?
Tomorrow I will be on a panel at the 11th Annual Games For Change Festival, addressing The Minecraft Experience. Chatting with the moderator (Nick Fortugno) in advance, he asked me a question that led to this post. My memory is … Continue reading
Me and the Games For Change Festival: Where to find me
Tomorrow begins the 11th annual Games For Change Festival, with a projected attendance of 800 people, over four days. What a difference 11 years makes! When we co-founded it in 2004, we could barely schedule enough speakers for a half-day … Continue reading
